Back to School Reminder
As schools return for the new academic year, we would like to remind all residents to take extra care around our schools, neighbourhoods, and busy routes during the morning and afternoon school run.
With more children walking, cycling, and travelling to and from school, roads and pavements will be significantly busier. We ask all motorists to remain alert, reduce speed where appropriate, and be prepared for children who may cross unexpectedly or become distracted while travelling with friends.
Parents and carers are encouraged to speak with their children about road safety, including the importance of using designated crossing points, staying aware of traffic, and avoiding distractions such as mobile phones when near roads.
We also ask drivers to park responsibly and considerately when dropping off or collecting children. Please avoid blocking driveways, junctions, pedestrian crossings, pavements, and access routes for emergency vehicles. Thoughtful parking helps keep everyone safe and reduces congestion for local residents.
By working together as a community, we can help create a safer environment for children, parents, school staff, and residents. A few extra moments of patience and consideration can make a significant difference.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. We wish all pupils, parents, carers, and school staff a safe, successful, and enjoyable start to the new school year.
